Overview

New Senior Secondary Information and Communication Technology series is written in accordance with the latest Information and Communication Technology Curriculum and Assessment Guide (Secondary 4 - 6). It consists of five parts:

• Compulsory Part

• Elective Part A – Databases

• Elective Part B – Data Communications and Networking

• Elective Part C – Multimedia Production and Web Site Development

• Elective Part D – Software Development

The Compulsory Part of this series is divided into three volumes, while each Elective Part is divided into two volumes:

Elective Part A – Databases Volume 1 Unit A – Database Basics Unit B – Relational Databases Volume 2 Unit C – Introduction to Database Design Methodology Unit D – Database Applications, Development and Society

Elective Part B – Data Communications and Networking
Volume 1 Unit A – Data Communications and Networking Basics Volume 2 Unit B – Network Design and Implementation Unit C – Network Management and Security

Elective Part C – Multimedia Production and Web Site Development
Volume 1 Unit A – Multimedia Production Volume 2 Unit B – Web Site Development

Elective Part D – Software Development Volume 1 Unit A – Pascal Programming Volume 2 Unit B – Programming Languages Unit C – Systems Development

This series also provides the Compulsory and Elective C workbooks as supplements to student’s textbooks.

Main objectives of this series:

• Help teachers handle the problems and challenges in teaching ICT in the new senior secondary academic structure.

• Help students master ICT with interest efficiently, and prepare for the HKDSE examination successfully.
